This guide explains the fields and functions of the advanced tab for client structure items. If you have any additional questions, you can contact our team using the Submit a request button in the top-right corner of this page.

This page allows you to make advanced changes to an existing item

1. Structure 
   When editing an item at a level lower than level one, the higher levels will be shown here. 

   
    
2. Expiry Date 
   This sets the item's expiry date. When an expiry date is reached, the item is deactivated. It will not show in the timesheet weeks later than the set date. For more information about expiring an item, please click here
   
    

3. External Ref / Account Code / Inherited Code

   External Ref
   The external ref is a unique Identifier. It is often used when importing Timemarker data to other systems.

   Account Code
   A non-unique Identifier. It is often used when importing Timemarker data to other systems.

   Inherited Code
   If an account code is set at a higher level, it will be displayed here

   
    
4. Is Time Entry Item 
   This setting sets whether a staff member can record time for this item in their timesheet. Typically, this is only enabled at the lowest level of a client structure, forcing staff members to complete a detailed timesheet rather than recording all their time at the top level. 
   
    
5. Non-Billable 
   The non-billable toggle determines whether this level and all lower levels are non-billable. When a level is set as non-billable, any time recorded for it will have a bill value of 0. This overrides any custom rates or staff rates that have been set. Bill value is used on the dashboard, in financial reports, and in exports. 
   
    

6. Template Settings
   This section provides information about templates related to this item. For more information about creating and using templates, please click here

   Linked Template
   If this item is linked to a template, the template name will be displayed in this field. If no template is set, you can select one to add. When adding a template, all lower levels attached to the template will be added to this item. If a template is removed, the lower-level items initially added from the template will remain but will be unlinked from the template.

   Is Usable as a Template 
   Sets if this item is usable as a template. When set, this item will appear as a selectable template for items of the same level. 

   Exclusively a Template 
   This indicates if the item is to be used only as a template. When set this item will no longer appear when adding rows to the timesheet.
