This guide will show you how to move time for a single staff member or all staff from one item to another. This function is primarily used when staff members have incorrectly recorded time for the wrong item for multiple days, weeks or months.
Please be aware that when time is moved to an item, it is merged with the existing records for the item. This means that it is very difficult to undo changes after you have moved the time.
If you are unable to complete any of the steps in this guide, you can use the Submit a request button at the top right of this page to contact our team for help.

Advanced Move Time Functionality
This section provides information about the advanced functionality of moving time.
-
Cascade
Usually, you can only move time from and to the lowest possible levels. With Cascade enabled, you can select a higher level to move from and to. If all the lower levels have the same names for the move from and to fields, you can move the time for all the lower levels.
This function is often used by companies that work on the same items across client projects and activities.
-
Allow Partial
When using Cascade, you will receive a warning if the move from and move to levels have different item names for the lower levels. With Allow Partial enabled, time will only be moved for items with matching level names.
-
Validation warnings
You will receive a validation warning if time cannot be moved between locations. The warning will explain why the time cannot be moved. If you cannot resolve an issue with a validation warning, submit a request to our team for assistance.
